Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller Discover Another Story That Never Happened

by Sheila Musaji

Philip Giraldi,  the Executive Director of the Council for the National Interest (CNI) published an article Neo-Cons and Muslim Haters on the CNI website.  The article includes one photograph which is of Pamela Geller.

A disreputable website called Veterans Today reprinted Geraldi’s article with a different photograph and a caption incorrectly identifying one of those in the photo.

Robert Spencer noticed the article and posted Former CIA agent and Ron Paul adviser writes on antisemitic website attacking counter-jihadists and Pamela Geller cross-posted Spencer’s article.

In his article, Spencer accused Giraldi of “giving aid and comfort to the jihad that wants to see Israel destroyed utterly”.

Scott Horton at Antiwar.com actually got in touch with Geraldi and asked him if he had posted on the Veterans Today site - and Horton reports “Giraldi confirmed to me that he has no connection whatsoever with the kooks at “Veterans Today.”

Scott Horton further notes

But Spencer and Geller couldn’t be bothered to find the original post, or they did, but then lied anyway. Giraldi writes for VT, they claimed, so he’s an anti-Semite, and Ron Paul is too since Giraldi has been an adviser to him!

(And what a dummy Phil is, they claimed, for getting the caption wrong, when it was not included in his post at CNIOnline.)

Who cares, why blog it? I don’t know.

Anyway, when I called them out in the comments, they both simply deleted the comments and then banned me.

For the record, here’s the now-deleted comment I wrote on both of their sites:

“All it took was 5 seconds on Google to find that this article was written for the Council for the National Interest, and was simply copy/pasted by the racist-loon site Veterans Today. Giraldi does not write for them, nor did he use that picture in his original. http://www.cnionline.org/neo-cons-and-muslim-haters/ But then again who listens to you but Breivik the mass murderer anyway?”

There. So now you know. Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller are dishonest-types.

Deleting comments can be added to Geller and Spencer (and the rest of their Islamophobic gangs) long list of attempts to conceal evidence of their “Truth-Telling” by removing passages from articles, disappearing entire articles, removing entire websites and their caches, etc.

Spencer and Geller are attempting to distance themselves from criticism or charges that they might be bigots.

In this article Spencer again says But of course Giraldi and others say that what I write is “hate” and thus the crossover to violence is not a big leap. Actually, however, this is a common charge but there is no hatred in anything I write, and I challenge anyone and everyone to find a single genuinely hateful statement I’ve ever written.  In previous articles Spencer has said ”... no one has come up with any gotcha quote from me — no incitement to violence, no broad-brush demonization of all Muslims (although it is routinely alleged that I do this), and not even anything false.“  He also said “No one I know has ever accused the “entire Muslim community of complicity in terrorism.” I have never done that, and challenge Scott Shane or anyone else to show that I have.”

Please see my previous article Spencer and Geller’s “Defense”: Sound and Fury Signifying Nothing responding to this with many examples of false claims, and of hateful comments demonizing all Muslims.

Dishonest types indeed.
