Shaykh Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf
Shaykh Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf studied with esteemed traditional scholars in England, India, South Africa and Syria. He received his specialization in Ifta’, the science of giving legal verdicts, from Mazahirul Uloom in Saharanpur, India and completed a specialization in hadith science, reading and studying the nine major hadith compilations, with isnad, in their entirety. He is a Hafiz of Quran with isnad from the top masters of tajwid (Qur’anic recitation) from the Indian subcontinent and Damascus, Syria. He has authored several important books, most notably Fiqh al-Imam, which discusses the proofs of the Hanafi school. He currently serves as the Imam of a mosque in Santa Barbara, California.
