Master Instructor Stoute (Sh. Bapak Waleed) is a True Spiritual Warrior living in modern times and contemporary places. Bapak is an internationally recognized Master in the martial arts of Silat Tuo, P.S. Satria Muda, and Seni Silat Haqq, authorized to spread the culture & traditions (adab/adab) of Silat Tuo (Old Silat) in association with its inherent connection to the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order (as permitted by Mawlana Grand-Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani.). Originally from Panama, Central America, Bapak received his MBA from the University of Maryland and now currently resides in the United States of America (Ann Arbor, MI). Performing and lecturing worldwide for the past 15 years, Bapak is a true ‘World Traveler.’ Having spent ‘real-time’ extensively training with the ‘Elders’ (Old Masters of the Path), touring as Head Instructor for the International Silat Federation, lecturing/performing as Founder/Head Choreographer of East West Creative Arts Studios, Bapak has visited Europe (England, Spain, Germany), Turkey, Korea, Japan, South Africa, Central & South America, Canada, the United States, and especially, ‘The Islands of Fire: Southeast Asia (Indonesia: West and North Sumatra, Jakarta, Bandung, Bukittinggi, Padang, Surabaya, West Jawa; Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur, Malaka, and Penang).

A True Master & Respected Teacher in the ‘Ways of Silat,’ Bapak is one of a handful of instructors recognized by Silat’s Motherland, Indonesia. In fact, as recently as the summer of 2004, Bapak received “The Key to the City” from the Mayor of Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, the native origin of the martial art of Silat Tuo. Bapak has further received Official Recognition & Authorization from Grand-Master Guru Edward Lebe P.S.S.M.I, the Office of the Consulate General Indonesia (Padang/Jakarta/Chicago/New York) and the Ikatan Pencak Silat of Indonesia (Indonesian Pencak Silat Association) to teach Silat Tuo, Silat Satria Muda, Minangkabau Arts, Kembangen Dance, and the associated methods of Natural Healing as developed from the Sufi Traditions.

Bapak’s experience, teaching background, and extensive travels (studies/researching) is more than 40 years in various traditional dances, martial arts, esoteric philosophies and Sufi Traditions.
