Imam Isam Rajab

Imam Isam Rajab is a native of Syria and is currently the Imam of the Islamic Center of New Mexico in Alburquerque and the principal of its full time Islamic School, the Salam Academy. He is a PhD candidate at al-Azhar University (College of Islamic and Arabic Studies), received his MA in Islamic Law from the American Open University and his BA in Shari’a from the Islamic University of Medina, Saudi Arabia. He also possesses traditional certificates (ijazas) in the system of Islamic inheritance and memorization of the Qur’an. Prior to coming to Albuquerque, he taught in Kuwait where he also served as a judge of Qur’anic competitions and as a director of the Islamic studies department at a private high school in Kuwait.
