Saad Eddin Ibrahim [ .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) ] is a pro-democracy advocate who is a professor of political sociology at the American University in Cairo and chairman of the Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies in Cairo. Dr. Ibrahim is presently a public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington DC. He is the author of The New Arab Social Order (1980), Arab Society (1990), and Egypt, Islam, and Democracy (2000), and is a regular contributor to a large variety of publications, including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and the Arab daily, Al Hayat. He has frequently spoken on a number of major television and radio shows such as the Charlie Rose Show and the Diane Reames Show, and has appeared for interviews on CNN and NBC.
