Franklin Graham’s continuous public statements characterizing the religion of Islam as evil condemned

(Miami-October 5, 2010) AMANA, the American Muslim Association of North America strongly condemns Christian Evangelist Pastor Franklin Graham continuous public statements characterizing the religion of Islam as evil. Rev. Franklin Graham, the son of Rev. Billy Graham, called Islam “wicked” and “evil” on Sunday October 3rd, 2010 during a televised town hall-style discussion about American’s feelings about the religion at ABC “This Week”. 

This hateful speech from Reverend Graham is not an isolated incident. Because of this conduct in April 2010 the US Army rescinded evangelist Franklin Graham’s invitation to speak at a Pentagon prayer service over earlier comments condemning Islam, which were deemed inappropriate. 

This vicious characterization of the religion of Islam is tantamount to a hate speech and should be vigorously opposed by all legal means possible. In addition to a general public condemnation we encourage serious believers to call or write Reverend Franklin Graham at:
