Dr. Moin S. Ansari is a Professor of Nutrition at the Palmer C. University in Davenport, Iowa. He joined the Palmer Faculty in 1978 and a member of the Continuing Education Faculty since 1980. Dr. Ansari received B.S. degree with distinction in Foods and Agriculture from the A.P.A. University in India in 1970 and M.S. in 1972 and Ph.D. in 1976 from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Prior to his appointment at Palmer, Dr. Ansari taught at Paine College, Augusta, Georgia and Northwestern College, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Ansari is a fellow of American College of Nutrition and is a Certified Nutrition Specialist by the American Certification Board for Nutrition Specialist. In addition, he is also a Clinical Certified Nutritionist by the American and International Association of Clinical Nutritionists. Currently he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Nutrition.
Dr. Ansari is an active member of several professional associations including American Institute of Nutrition, American Society for Nutrition Education, International Academy of Nutrition and Preventive Medicine, Sigma Xi (a Scientific Research Honor Society) and Iowa Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Ansari has published numerous scientific articles in reputed scientific journals and contributed chapters in books. He traveled coast to coast in the United States and several countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Greece, Egypt, England, Fiji, Germany, India, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Nepal and Saudi Arabia either to present research papers or to participate in National and International Nutrition meetings and Palmer Clinic Abroad Programs.
Among the several Awards and Citations he has received, the most notable are the Faculty of the Year Award by students and the Outstanding Faculty of the Year Award by Colleagues, Presidential Citation of Distinguished Service and the Research Honor Award. Dr. Ansari is also very active in several community organizations.
