In the crowded copy shop
sitting at a rental computer
I found myself singing Qur’an
out loud.
I don’t think anyone heard,
but looking up I saw
they’d all turned into saints,
some women into angels,
bearded men to prophets,
their papers all shining
brilliant white
in the light of Allah.
