I’ll Trade Hate Mail With Pamela Geller Any Day

Pamela Geller just published an article entitled Evil Unleashed in which she complains that since the Breivik murders in Norway she has received hate mail. 

Here is the gist of her intro:

I have refrained from running the absolutely breathtaking evil messages I have been receiving in my email box and comments section after the Norway massacre.  ...  And all the media and the leftwing subversives seek to achieve is the destruction of those who are resisting jihad. The hatred of the good for being the good.  The death threats, the depraved invective is what I have come to expect from the left and Islamic supremacists. It’s the hypocrisy that makes me laugh.  ...  No matter. This has nothing to do with Breivik or the innocent 76 he slaughtered in this most evil act.  No, what matters is to destroy the resistance to jihad. What matters is to use this monstrous act to destroy the forces of good.  Here is an email I just received, along with just a few of the hundreds (if not thousands) I have gotten over the course of the past week:

(she then posts 8 emails).  She also says We are witnesssing the complete breakdown of rational society.

One of the emails actually sounds like it might be a death threat from some psychopath and should be turned over to law enforcement.  The others are insults, and suggestions of some sort of culpability in creating a climate of hatred.  The language is crude, and the insults use terminology you wouldn’t want small children to hear.  However, most is not much different from the language she herself uses about Islam and Muslims, and anyone she disagrees with, so it is difficult to be too sympathetic.  Her own hateful rhetoric has certainly contributed to that “breakdown of rational society” that she is belatedly concerned about.

Actually, if this is the worst of the “hundreds” or “thousands” of hate emails she has received, then I’ll trade with her any day.

Here is some of the “fan mail” I have received, and that I save in a file called simply “nasty emails”.

I won’t bother to put [sic] after glaring spelling and grammatical errors because [sic] would then become the most common word.  I will also “clean up” the worst of the profanity.  I have highlighted some passages in bold.  The all caps computer shouting was in the originals.  There is lots more in the file, but this will give you the general idea.  If I were Pamela Geller or Robert Spencer, I would be concerned that many of the comments that are left on their sites by their followers sound much like these that I have received.  And, what is most telling is that they allow those comments to remain.  What seems like “evil unleashed” to me is to encourage and personally participate in this sort of venomous speech rather than attempting to speak against it. 

Actually, it is interesting that these come from different people with different email addresses, but they parrot the same phrases over and over.  It’s almost as if there is a source that is inspiring this hatred.

“It is rude to go to another country and try to force your backward views on it.  If you don’t like the way this country is run, don’t come here in the first place.  But, now that I think about it a little more.  Who the heck wants to live in a baron desert surrounded by a bunch of psychopathic pagans?  Nevertheless, GO HOME!!!!!!  And tell your terrorist friends that this country WILL NEVER BE A MUSLIM COUNTRY!!!!  Oh, and what makes you think that your religion and views are so much better than everyone else.  Look around the world, and all you see is muslims fighting EVERY OTHER RELIGION.  Sounds like one big terrorist group to me.”

Responding to the “Muslims Denounce Terrorism” logo on TAM’s main page, some lunatic said:  “the only way i will believe you is for you to leave America and go help the people in the home land of your mother and father.. and of their mothers and fathers….  there is nothing you can say to change my opinion.”  When I wrote back to this individual that I am an American whose family has been here for generations,  he wrote back:  “Frankly, I think you are lying about your ancestry but unless you are willing to prove it then we will have to leave it at that, otherwise you are a lost soul in search of yourself.  Kinda like gay people who think they are gay or want to be gay but aren’t really gay and lack self-esteem and are simply looking for an identity.”

Americans are going to remove Islam from this country.
