Benouis, Kemal Ian

Kemal Ian Benouis, an American of Berber-Arab-Scottish-English descent, is a West Point graduate from the class of 1986 and a practicing attorney. He is also a former United States Army Officer, having served a tour of duty in the Aviation branch of the Army in the US and in Panama, where he participated as a Blackhawk Helicopter pilot and staff officer in Operation Just Cause. Having having been raised by a Muslim father and a Christian mother, Kemal was confirmed in the Methodist church as a youth in Hawai’i where he was raised, but converted to Islam after leaving the military. Kemal, who is married with four children, currently runs the Muslims for Jesus weblog, serves as Executive Director for Justice For Yee, and is Executive Vice Chair for the Texas Chapter of the American Muslim Alliance.
