Mostafa Atamnia teaches Modern Standard Arabic (M.S.A) at Harvard University. He studied Law at the University of Algiers, Algeria, and received his J.D. in Law in 1992. He has been a member of the Algiers Bar since January 1995. He practiced International Law, especially banking litigation. He is now an independent consultant on issues related to the rule of law and Human Rights in Algeria. He taught Arabic at Georgetown University (C.C.A.S) and at The Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C. Professor Atamnia is a specialist in the field of Human Rights, freedom of the press, Arabic poetry, and the culture of North Africa. Professor Atamnia is fluent in French and Russian.
