SHEIKH MOHAMMED NUR ABDULLAH - Sheikh Nur is the current President of the Islamic Society of North America, and the Imam and director of the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis, came to the United States from Sudan in 1978.

He received his B.A. in Sharia at the Islamic University, Medina and a M.A. in Sharia at the Ummal Qura University, Makkah. He completed further studies at the University of Chicago where he received an M.A. in Islamic Studies and is now a Ph.D. candidate. He is past chairman of the ISNA Fiqh Council and has been a member of the Fiqh Council of North America since 1982. He is the principal for the Al Salaam Day School and member of the Sharia Scholars Association of North America.

He has authored several articles on family in Islam, marriage and divorce, and the concept of Shura in Islam. He also works as a marriage counselor.

He was an advisor to the Bureau of Guidance, Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs, SanҒa, Yemen. Chairman, Islamic Conference, Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs, Kuwait. Representative of Ministry of Awqaf, Kuwait to the American Muslim Mission (1978-1982). Advisor to the Council of Imams of the American Muslim Mission. Instructor of Islamic Studies, American Islamic College. Lecturer during the Hajj in Medina and Mecca (1970-1976). Lecturer in fiqh at Masjid al-Rawdha, Kuwait. Director of Adult Education for Islamic Studies & Arabic, AMM. Chairman of Training Program of ISNA for Imams. Member of numerous professional organizations.
