AAI Condemns Iranian President’s Holocaust Denial Gathering

WASHINGTON ─ Dec. 15, 2006 ─ The Arab American Institute (AAI) is deeply disturbed by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s gathering of Holocaust deniers in Tehran.

“We reject the conference’s very premise,” said AAI President Dr. James Zogby. “By seeking to prey off anger and frustration, this conference has only served to aggravate an already fragile political situation in today’s troubled Middle East. This distasteful gathering of anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers has served no purpose other than promoting hate and creating fear.”

Founded in 1985, the Arab American Institute (AAI) is a nonprofit organization committed to the civic and political empowerment of Americans of Arab descent.  AAI provides policy, research and public affairs services to support a broad range of community activities.
